Call2Action and Oceana Team Up to Save Bluefin Tuna

(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) August 5, 2010 - Call2Action, a leader in social media marketing tools, has teamed up with Oceana, the world's largest international ocean conservation organization, to try and save the Bluefin tuna from extinction.

Bluefin tuna are the most valuable fish in the world, coveted for their fatty belly meat. Overfishing is driving Bluefin toward extinction, and the Gulf of Mexico, one of only two known breeding grounds, has been decimated by the BP oil spill. Unless action is taken immediately, it is unlikely that Bluefin will ever recover.   The Oceana campaign makes use of a video shot on location with Adrien Grenier of HBO’s “Entourage”. The video is hosted in Call2Action’s Spark, which combines video with action tools in an easily shared custom widget.

The Spark is the latest in online marketing tools for nonprofits and cause-based initiatives. Anyone can post it anywhere online with a simple click. The Spark is integrated with Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, and enables supporters to immediately take action (actions include Donate, Share, Petition, Buy, Event, Comment and more).
