The American National Standard for Sustainable Agriculture (ANSI/LEO-4000)
A national sustainable agriculture standard will establish a common set of economic, environmental, and social measurements to determine whether an agricultural crop has been produced and handled in a sustainable manner. The standard supports producers in implementing sustainable production practices, engage the agricultural supply chain in sustainability, provide a consistent way to communicate achievements, and harmonize the multiple sustainable agriculture programs and standards already in place or under development. The Standard was approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) on November 3rd, 2015.
