Earn LEED Off-Site Native Vegetation Credits: Valley Ridge Preserve for Sustainability Research and Demonstration
Buildings pursuing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Buildings (LEED EB) certification can earn points for Reduced Site Disturbance with off-site native vegetation on Leonardo Academy’s Valley Ridge Sustainability Demonstration Preserve. This offsite native vegetation option is available for all three versions of LEED-EB to earn Sustainable Sites (SS) credit for Protecting or Restoring Open Habitat, and to earn the associated innovation point. Payment for maintenance of off-site native vegetation generates revenue to support restoration of the Preserve and supports the nonprofit Leonardo Academy’s work to advance sustainability.
