Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption: Finding Forever Families for Children in Foster Care

John had a very interesting story in foster care. He was in seven placements and had no behavior issues of his own, but his three siblings needed specific care to work through their trauma. Due to these needs, several placements disrupted, or broke down. Wendy's Wonderful Kids recruiters do their best to keep sibling groups together, but sometimes the best thing for the child on their caseload is to be removed from the sibling group. In John's case, that was recommended. Once John was placed with a family on his own, we saw him thrive. His new foster family quickly fell in love with him and was eager to make it official. John was officially adopted in January 2016 and has his forever family.
