EdCast Expands Its Micro-Learning Network for Youth and Enterprises with HP LIFE
New social learning platform offered in seven languages features 25 interactive courses, personalized content and peer-expert engagement
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., February 24, 2016 /3BL Media/ -- EdCast, the fast-growing social knowledge network on which users learn from the masters, today announced that it has added HP’s online Learning Initiative for Entrepreneurs (HP LIFE) to its network. HP LIFE 2.0, powered by EdCast’s knowledge sharing platform, will harness the influence of EdCast’s social learning platform as it offers 25 interactive micro-courses.
Aimed at providing baseline business skills development for the underserved, the program helps aspiring entrepreneurs, students and small business owners. Offered in seven languages, HP LIFE 2.0’s self-paced micro-courses cover a wide spectrum of topics including strategic planning, leadership, sales, social media marketing, energy efficiency, funding and finance.
As part of the new EdCast platform, the informal learning offered through micro-courses will be complemented with a personalized feed of bite-sized content that users can consume every day. This continuous stream of high-value curated content is chosen based on the individual’s interests, knowledge base and learning behaviors, so that they can collaborate with their peers to create an engaging learning experience.
“Social learning is an increasingly powerful pedagogical tool that promotes optimum engagement and daily learning by encouraging users to connect and collaborate with peers and influencers,” says Karl Mehta, EdCast CEO and Founder. “EdCast has proven experience in this space, and is delighted to work closely with HP to deliver further meaningful, accessible learning solutions to a broad cross-section of global users.”
“We’re delighted that HP LIFE 2.0 is now available on the EdCast platform,” says Nate Hurst, Chief Sustainability Innovation Officer, HP. “Technology is a key enabler for millions of talented people around the world who do not have access to the educational resources they need to reach their full potential. HP LIFE 2.0 opens a pathway to learning for underserved youth, aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners everywhere – providing anyone with internet connection access to free, practical business training that helps improve economic development and strengthen technical literacy.”
