Four Siblings Are Thankful for Family This Holiday Season
/*-->*/
Imagine watching the news and knowing instantly that the child looking back at you is the biological sibling of two children you are about to adopt.
That is what happened to Michelle and Don Beauchene of northwest Ohio. The couple was preparing to adopt two children into their large family, when they saw a story of a young girl in foster care who needed a liver transplant. She had the same rare condition as their soon to be adopted daughter and they looked nearly identical.
Immediately Michelle and Don took action. They called their case workers and were quickly connected to the little girl they had seen on TV and her brother. Michelle and Don wanted to keep the siblings together. That’s when the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption’s Wendy’s Wonderful Kids recruiter Alana acted. She worked to help the family prepare their home for four more children, not just two.
Brooklyn and London were adopted on November 2 and are officially Beauchenes growing up with their biological children and EIGHT other siblings!
Take a moment to watch the video from Good Morning America when the family was featured as part of a celebration of National Adoption Month.
