The heart and cardiovascular system undergo changes as we age that can lead to increased risk for disease. However, some of these changes may be preventable through lifestyle changes, including dietary changes. Some bioactive compounds, such as cocoa flavanols, have emerged as a promising dietary intervention for cardiovascular health. . Science from collaborations of leading experts in academia and industry are finding that the unique combination of flavanols found in cocoa may promote a healthy heart and cardiovascular system by supporting healthy blood flow.
