LA Galaxy Teams Up With David Beckham and Herbalife Nutrition to Refurbish Community Soccer Field in Downtown Los Angeles
AEG’s LA Galaxy, David Beckham and Herbalife Nutrition unveil Beckham Community Field, located at The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth and Community Center; Field to provide a safe soccer environment to more than 2,000 youth monthly
As part of David Beckham’s lasting impact on the city of Los Angeles and the sport of soccer, AEG’s LA Galaxy, David Beckham and Herbalife Nutrition unveiled a refurbished turf field in downtown Los Angeles on Friday, March 1, 2019.
Prior to the press conference, the LA Galaxy Foundation hosted a soccer clinic for children from the Salvation Army Red Shield Youth and Community Center, during which Beckham joined the children for a few drills.
As part of Beckham’s commitment to local Los Angeles youth, the field, located at The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth and Community Center (1532 West 11th Street, Los Angeles, CA), provides a safe soccer environment to more than 2,000 youth monthly in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Downtown Los Angeles and features a colorful mural by Mark Paul Deren (Madsteez) of Beckham from his time on the Galaxy.
The field was built with generous donations from Herbalife Nutrition, AEG, the LA Galaxy Foundation and David Beckham.
