LA Galaxy Teams up With Shoes That Fit to Provide 100 Elementary School Students With New Shoes
The Club’s third annual Shoes That Fit event coincided with the LA Galaxy Champion Project
AEG’s LA Galaxy Foundation recently teamed up for the third consecutive year with the non-profit organization, Shoes That Fit, to provide 100 students at Catskill Elementary School in Carson, Calif. with brand new shoes on Friday, Nov. 1.
Shoes That Fit is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children improve their self-esteem by providing low-income youth with a pair of shoes so they can go to school in comfort and focus on their studies rather their circumstances.
During the event, the LA Galaxy Girls’ Academy, LA Galaxy Star Squad and team mascot Cozmo distributed and fitted students with a brand new pair of adidas athletic shoes. Following shoe distribution, the Galaxy hosted a youth soccer clinic.
Catskill Elementary School is part of the LA Galaxy Champion Project, a community-driven program where the Galaxy partner with local elementary schools to provide soccer programming while promoting health, wellness and leadership development with local youth.
