LA Kings Host Girls Youth Hockey Clinics With Blake Bolden
AEG’s LA Kings recently kicked off its Girls Youth Hockey Clinics on Oct. 8 at the club’s newly re-opened LA Kings Ice at Promenade on the Peninsula in Southern California.
Throughout the month of October, the club will host a one-hour clinic every Friday for female youth hockey players ages 6-12, for all skill levels. Each session is run by former professional women’s hockey player and current LA Kings Scout and Diversity and Inclusion Specialist Blake Bolden in addition to an all-female coaching staff.
The LA Kings Girls Youth Hockey Clinics mark the club’s first youth clinics to be coached exclusively by an all-female staff.
“Youth hockey clinics are a vital tool in growing the sport of hockey,” said Blake Bolden. “While most youth hockey clinics are co-ed, we are so excited to offer this experience exclusively to young female athletes – and lead by example with an all-female coaching staff – to create a unique environment for players to connect with each other and feel comfortable in being themselves both on and off the ice.”
Sessions focus on sharpening basic hockey skills, skating and improving overall comfort on the ice.
