LA Kings Host Virtual Halloween 5K to Benefit Children's Hospital Los Angeles
Between October 23 and 31, 2020, AEG’s LA Kings will host a virtual Halloween 5K with proceeds benefitting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), a longstanding partner of the team’s charitable arm, Kings Care Foundation. The event encourages fans to dress-up in their favorite hockey-themed Halloween Costumes to raise money for the hospital’s Blood Donor Center.
“As CHLA works to provide superior care for patients in Los Angeles during the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for blood continues to rise. This is why, through this race, the LA Kings are calling on fans to support patients during this critical time,” said LA Kings Vice President, Community Relations and Team Services, Jennifer Pope.
The donation is part of the LA Kings’ three-year pledge of $450,000 to CHLA. Funds from the three-year pledge will be used by the hospital’s Department of Neurosurgery to refine diagnostics and explore new, non-surgical treatment methods for Hydrocephalus, and the Department of Pathology, which will upgrade its equipment and deploy a new mobile blood van.
