The 2013 Leadership Conference, “Lead from Where You Are: Enhancing Your Professional Impact,” hosted by BNY Mellon’s Women’s Initiatives Network and ALPFA brought approximately 300 Pittsburgh-area leaders together for a full day of capacity development, leadership training, engagement and discussion.

Workshop sessions included “The Boiling Point: Managing in a Crisis” with Allison White-McKinley of Accenture and “Connect Your Dots – Cultivating the Right Relationships” led by Alyson Lyon, Higher View Coaching and Consulting, LLC. Christy Uffelman of Align Leadership facilitated a multi-generational discussion and conference attendees met with Ayana Ledford of PROGRESS at Carnegie Mellon University who offered practical, actionable negotiation skills in her session,  “Ask for It!” Additional breakout sessions included “Innovation at Work – How to Create the Spirit of Entrepreneurship in Corporate America” led by Virun Rampersad, BNY Mellon, and “Leveraging Board Leadership to Elevate Your Career,” presented by Hector Perez of Tatum. In addition to skill-building workshops, the conference produced inspiring discussions and expanded career and personal networking opportunities.
