Leadership from PYXERA Global Attends COMMIT! Forum and BCLC Annual Corporate Responsibility Conference
Washington, DC, October 11, 2013 /3BL Media/ –This week, Deirdre White, CEO of PYXERA Global attended and presented at the COMMIT! Forum in New York City as well as the US Chamber of Commerce’s BCLC Annual Corporate Responsibility Conference in Washington, DC. Both events, though different in scope and size, had a common theme—business as a driver for progress and social change.
The COMMIT! Forum, a two-day conference hosted by Corporate Responsibility Magazine, played host to numerous CEOs and policy makers engaged in responsible, sustainable, and transparent business practices. With the tagline “Good Business Makes the Difference,” the event gave leaders a chance to discuss pressing issues related to sustainability and responsibility across sectors. White, who joined leaders from PepsiCo, SAP, and IBMon the “How to Build Your Next Generation of Leadership” panel, discussed the benefit of global pro bono service.
“From employee engagement to branding and stakeholder value, this year’s COMMIT! Forum provided concrete ideas for CSR professionals seeking to embed their programs throughout company operations,” states White. “Sustainable workforce” was one of six themes at the forefront of the agenda. SAP, MTV, PepsiCo, and IBM each demonstrated why and how giving back through pro bono is changing their spirit, dedication, and engagement of their workforce.”
Global pro bono is a win-win approach that leverages the professional expertise of talented individuals with diverse backgrounds in a global setting. This is changing the face of local organizations worldwide by introducing high-level skills and business approaches while aligning with corporate strategic goals. PYXERA Global currently partners with IBM, SAP, and PepsiCo in implementing successful global pro bono programs which leverage each company’s unique abilities and business objectives.
As part of the BCLC’s Annual Corporate Responsibility Conference: “The Network Effect: How business drives progress”, White participated in the “Innovation Blitz” breakout session along with Raj Kumar, President and Editor in Chief, Devex, Dave Haft, Founder, Impact Hub, Dr. Mrim Boulta, Co-Founder & Managing Partner, More Than Money (MTM) Career, and Ray Martinez, Co-Founder & EVP, EverFi. The panel discussed emerging trends in the corporate responsibility field. White specifically highlighted the importance of leveraging the strengths of governments, businesses, and NGOs to partner together in solving complex global issues.
“No one sector can do this alone,” said White.
