Matt Clark Named as Honorable Mention for Emerging Leader Award by InsideNGO
PYXERA Global speaks at InsideNGO’s 2017 Annual Conference
WASHINGTON, D.C., July 20, 2017 /3BL Media/ - PYXERA Global proudly announces the recognition of Senior Global Engagement Manager, Matt Clark, by Inside NGO’s Excellence Awards. Clark, who co-designed PYXERA Global’s popular tri-sector partnership training and currently leads The Center for Citizen Diplomacy, received honorable mention at Inside NGO’s 2017 Annual Conference yesterday under the Emerging Leader category.
The tri-sector partnership training, created in collaboration with CEO, Deirdre White, and Chief Learning and Partnerships Officer, Kimberli Jeter, takes participants through the fundamental concepts underpinning high quality partnerships. Participants leave the workshop with tools and templates in-hand, and with the insight and inspiration to forge strong collaborations with partners across sectors and organizations that have different operating cultures and motivations.
Since its inception in late 2015, the workshop has been conducted at more than a dozen events around the world with nearly 600 individuals, from across the public, private, and social sectors. Venues have included organizations and events where partnership is increasingly critical, such as the Shared Value Leadership Summit, the United Nations System Staff College, the IMPACT 2030 Bi-Annual Summit, and the SwitchPoint Global Public Health Forum.
The workshop has provided particular value to the NGO community, who have acknowledged the challenges in forging and implementing cross-sector partnerships. Many associations recognize the need to embrace a partnership, yet still grapple with the need for the right tools to do so effectively. The partnership training has been conducted with NGO groups such as the Shared Value Initiative International NGO Annual Meeting, LINGOS, and the Association for Childhood Education International.
In addition to the recognition of Matt Clark, CEO, Deirdre White spoke at the conference on the true story behind partnerships. “Partners often have very different goals but they are rarely mutually exclusive,” said Ms. White. “Successful partnership accepts that each partner has a unique motive for collaboration and finds a way to embrace that as part of the partnership. If you bring respect for one another’s goals, experiences, knowledge, processes, and approaches to the partnership you begin to build a strong foundation for all partners involved.”
Soud Habbas, Chief Operating Officer at PYXERA Global, also spoke on two panels to discuss future funding modalities, funder diversification, the rise of public/private partnerships, and newer financing mechanisms. Habbas gave a second presentation on the PEACE model—a non-accusatory, information gathering approach to investigative interviewing.
The 2017 InsideNGO Annual Conference is one of the world’s largest gatherings of international relief and development professionals. The three-day conference convened in Washington, D.C. on July 19 - 21.
