Multistate Action Plan to Bring 3.3 Million Zero-Emission Vehicles on the Road by 2025

An agreement between eight states, dubbed the Multistate ZEV Action Plan, aims to cut down greenhouse gas emissions by mainstream autos over the next decade. The agreement will also seek to unify state policies on zero-emission vehicles across all eight states, which include the two most populous states in the country, California and New York.

The multistate alliance, which also includes Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont, will help synergize the individual programs of each state to encourage vehicle owners to make the switch from gas-powered vehicles. The alliance has now announced that it plans to step up each state’s efforts at reducing carbon emissions, a substantial part of which is emitted by transportation.
