Native American Network: Honoring History, Leading With Love
During Native American Heritage Month, we celebrate the rich traditions and histories of our Native American employees by highlighting how they Lead with Love to improve life for tribal citizens.
Our Native American employees are connected through our Native American Network—bringing together our employees from diverse cultures to positively impact our company and our communities.
Our Native American Network (NAN) has worked closely with several tribes to help provide much needed supplies to try to keep everyone healthy during the pandemic and times of disaster. In partnership with Matthew 25: Ministries, we have been able to provide truckloads of personal hygiene, cleaning products, paper towels, toilet paper, water, and PPE to those in need across the United States. Pictured above are a few members of the Alexandria Plant NAN team and the Houma Tribe located in Louisiana.
Another way our Native American Network is stepping forward to Lead with Love is through efforts around sustainability.
Millions of people and hundreds of species rely on the Colorado River to thrive. P&G has joined the Colorado River Indian Tribes System Conservation Project to collaborate with partners to build a more resilient future for the Tribal Nations who depend on this vital resource.
The Network is currently working diligently with Family Care to help with Reforestation Efforts on Tribal Lands. As we “think globally and act locally,” this past year, Network members planted trees in local areas surrounding our plants and general offices. We’re also using our voice to drive representation behind and in front of the camera. Native and Indigenous Americans, along with Black, Hispanic, Asian and Pacific Islander Americans, make up 40% of the U.S. population. We’re addressing the entrenched habits in how we do marketing, and outline the path to building new habits needed to widen the opportunity for multicultural marketing. At P&G, we aspire to create a company and a world where equality and inclusion is achievable for all—including our Native American and Indigenous employees. Click here to learn more about our equality and inclusion efforts.
