Prince Ea Brings Message to ‘Stand for Trees’ to Global Sustainability Leaders
Sustainable Brands 2015 to screen the artist’s groundbreaking viral video “Dear Future Generations: Sorry” to encourage corporate sustainability leaders to stand together against deforestation
SAN FRANCISCO, May 29, 2015 /3BL Media/ — Celebrity activist and spoken word artist Prince Ea will appear at Sustainable Brands 2015 in San Diego this Thursday to encourage corporate sustainability leaders to ‘Stand for Trees’ and collectively do more to protect the environment by embracing better business practices.
Prince Ea launched his recent video, “Dear Future Generations: Sorry,” just before Earth Day 2015 to raise awareness about the current plight of our environment and especially of the world’s remaining forests. Prince Ea was inspired to produce the video by the Stand for Trees campaign, an innovative new way for individuals to take real and effective action to protect threatened forests and help curb global climate change, all with the press of a button on their smart phones.
“You want to listen to people that are relatable — you want somebody to get it. But language is everything — you gotta simplify it,” Prince Ea said in an interview with Sustainable Brands regarding his messaging style. “The simplest organism is usually the strongest, and I think that’s true for videos, for everything.”
Through his music, Prince Ea has covered topics like technology, race, human connection, compassion, and mindfulness - engaging a fan base that includes everyone from Queen Latifah to Glenn Beck. Now, Prince Ea is bringing his message to Sustainable Brands in San Diego this June. Sustainable Brands is the largest corporate sustainability conference in North America, hosting 2,500 corporate sustainability executives from some of the world’s most influential companies. Prince Ea will take the main stage on June 4th at 12:00 pm to encourage more companies to join together as active stewards of our environment by taking a Stand for Trees.
‘Stand For Trees’, sponsored by Code REDD and USAID, is a first-of-its-kind consumer campaign that uses the power of social media and crowd-funding to enable everyone to take real and effective action to halt deforestation and curb climate change – this at a time when we are losing a forest area the size of Manhattan every 48 hours. Through an innovative mobile web solution, individuals can now purchase ‘Stand For Trees Certificates.’ Each $10 Certificate does ‘a tonne of good’ by preventing one metric tonne of carbon from being released into the atmosphere by protecting threatened forests, habitats, and communities that a purchaser selects from a gallery of on-screen choices.
‘Stand for Trees’ will be hosting a booth (#615) at the conference, together with their agency creative communications partner Citizen Group, where attendees can meet Prince Ea, learn more about the campaign, and ‘do a tonne of good’ by purchasing Stand For Trees Certificates to protect a specific forest and offset their own emissions.
