Principal® Foundation To Sponsor EVERFI Black History Month Challenge
Students can compete in essay contest to win scholarships
DES MOINES, Iowa, February 1, 2023 /3BL Media/ – Principal® Foundation is inviting high school students across the U.S. to participate in the Black History Month Challenge for a chance to win a college scholarship. The challenge was created by EVERFI, an innovator in digital social impact education, to help students in grades 9-12 understand the events that have shaped Black history and their connections to today.
The Black History Month Challenge is open to all students between the ages of 13-18, and presents a fun and interactive way to explore some of the lesser-known stories about the Black experience in the U.S. The lessons also celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of Black business titans and explore Black contributions to medicine.
Students will complete four digital lessons and compete in a capstone essay contest by answering a question about what they have learned. EVERFI, with support from Principal® Foundation, will award a combined total of $5,000 in scholarships to three winners of the challenge.
