October 21, 2015 /3BL Media/ - In honor of Pro Bono Week 2015PYXERA Global and A Billion+ Change are partnering to host a LIVE 30-minute Twitter Chat, Pro Bono for The Global Goals, on Thursday, October 29th at 11 a.m., EST.

Pro bono is quickly becoming an approach for companies to address the Global Goals.  During this chat, you’ll hear from pro bono pioneers like IBM and SAP to learn how they are mapping programs like the Corporate Service Corps and the Social Sabbatical with the Global Goals. You will also hear from IMPACT 2030a private sector-led collaboration that is mobilizing corporate volunteers in support of the SDGs, and Monitor Institute, a part of Deloitte’s Social Impact practice, on the future of pro bono.

Rainer Stern will join #PBW15 through @sapcsr. Rainer is Global Vice President, Sales Acceleration and Leadership Programs at SAP.  In his current role, Rainer is responsible for Global Sales Leadership Programs. He empowers SAP’s salesforce and leaders across all of the regions and countries where SAP has a presence.

In October 2014, Rainer participated in SAP’s Social Sabbatical in Bogotá, Colombia for four weeks. The  Social Sabbatical is an innovative short-term assignment initiative to help solve business challenges for entrepreneurs in emerging markets. Rainer and his team provided in-depth pro bono business development support for a Colombian project called Seeds of Confidence.

Diane Melley, Vice President, Global Citizenship Initiatives in IBM Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs, has leadership responsibility over the IBM services grant portfolio globally, which includes offerings for not-for-profits, schools and government organizations. Diane led the IBM Centennial Celebration of Service in 2011 when IBM had over 300,000 volunteers in 120 countries participate.

Diane also leads On Demand Community, IBM’s global strategic initiative to support employee and retiree volunteer efforts worldwide. On Demand Community is utilized by IBM employees and retirees in over 120 countries, and reflects 14 million hours of IBM community volunteer efforts.

IMPACT 2030 is the only business-led effort designed to marshal the power of employee volunteer investments to advance the achievement of the Global Goals. The IMPACT 2030 coalition convenes leaders from corporations, the United Nations, governments, civil society, academia, and philanthropic organizations from around the world. At the end of IMPACT 2030’s 15-year charter, the coalition will leave existing and new organizations with advanced tools to engage employees in volunteer work, measure the impact of volunteer efforts, and promote the power of employee volunteers to change the world.
