PYXERA Global Launches Website That Amplifies New Approaches To Global Engagement
WASHINGTON, D.C., December 17, 2013 /3BL Media/ – PYXERA Global announces the launch of its new website, www.pxyeraglobal.org. The web platform, which seeks to communicate the organization’s work on the new frontier of global engagement, follows closely the brand launch of this international nonprofit. PYXERA Global, previously known as CDC Development Solutions, has worked across sectors in international development with both public and private sector partners for close to 25 years. The site features PYXERA Global’s approach to creating partnerships amongst the public, private, and social sectors that create shared value and generate social change. The site also showcases the collective work of clients investing in socially responsible initiatives, including IBM, The Dow Chemical Company (Dow), John Deere, Merck & Co. Inc., PepsiCo, SAP, Anadarko, and the John Deere Foundation.
Through case studies of their work, PYXERA Global demonstrates the collective impact of partners investing pro bono talent and monetary resources into improving the capacity of high potential organizations in emerging and frontier markets, as well as more developed geographies, such as areas of need in the United States. A team of IBM employees, for example, provided its professional skills to help improve Morocco's economic development. IBM, with whom PYXERA Global has partnered on joint initiatives such as the Center of Excellence for International Corporate Volunteerism and the Corporate Service Corps has sent 2,400 IBM employees to provide pro bono support to communities worldwide.
Other programs featured on the site include SAP’s Social Sabbatical, which transformed the public image of ASMARE, a Brazilian association of recycling professionals. Dow sent employees to Ghana through the Dow Sustainability Corps, where pro bono consultants worked with seven organizations in the country’s capital on water, education, agriculture, housing, and related challenges. In local content development, a major oil and gas company is working with PYXERA Global to ensure Mozambican companies have the chance to supply goods and services during construction of the country’s first-ever liquefied natural gas plant.
The new website also showcases the way unique partnerships such as JIVA, the Joint Initiative for Village Advancement, are encouraging divergence from traditional foreign aid models. Supported by the John Deere Foundation, this program is a long-term investment in enriched livelihoods for three rural villages in India, emphasizing agriculture, education, sanitation, and infrastructure. MBAs Without Borders, one of PYXERA Global’s signature initiatives, places MBA graduates in extended fellowships in emerging and frontier markets.
Global pro bono, local content development, and integrated community development offer different approaches to improving lives and livelihoods worldwide, inclusively and sustainably. The new website focuses on ways in which these approaches address critical global challenges that include access to clean water, health, education, and technology, as well as food security and enterprise development. The site features the spectrum of global engagement addressed by PYXERA Global’s programming and the impact it delivers to organizations, governments, and communities worldwide. Programs are structured to offer corporations and individuals pathways to engage globally, while developing mutually beneficial partnerships and projects that help solve complex social challenges.
