PYXERA Global Shares Experience on the Changing Landscape of International Development
Council of International Development Companies Conference
WASHINGTON, DC, December 5, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Deirdre White, CEO of PYXERA Global, spoke on a panel discussing the evolving development landscape at the Council of International Development Companies (CIDC) Conference this week. Accompanied by CEO of Carana Corporation, Eduardo Tugenhadt, Accenture Senior Manager, Linda Nemec, and USAID India former Deputy Mission Director, Elizabeth Warfield, Ms. White examined the challenges and rewards of private-public-social sector partnerships and the resulting implications for international development companies. Honorable Rajiv Shah, Administrator, USAID led the event with a keynote address.
The CIDC Conference explores the factors that shape the evolution of international capacity building and shared government and international development objectives. As private sector capital flowing into emerging economies has surged in recent years, new opportunities for companies that specialize in implementing projects in challenging environments are quickly emerging. However, expectations of outcomes from these corporate partners are also becoming increasingly demanding.
As there is an increasing awareness that development objectives may be directly linked to corporate business strategies, the landscape for development companies is changing. This is especially topical right now as donor agencies seek to catalyze the greatest outcomes amidst changing priorities and diminishing resources. Indicative of this trend, PYXERA Global has transformed itself from an organization that has relied significantly on government and donor funding to one that is largely partnering with corporate clients to deliver social value for organizations and communities across the globe.
