Sanofi Espoir Foundation’s Presentation at the New African Woman Forum
According to Sustainable Development Goal No. 5, providing women and girls with equal access to education, healthcare, decent work, and representation in political and economic decision-making processes will fuel sustainable economies and benefit societies and humanity at large.
Sanofi participated, as sponsor, to the New Africa Forum, held from 12 to 13 April in Dakar. More than 200 personalities from business, academia, civil society, the public and private sectors responded to this important event.
During a roundtable about women’s health, Dr. Amy Ndao Fall, Sanofi Medical Director Sub-Saharan Africa, introduced the role played by Sanofi and the Sanofi Espoir Foundation to accompany women in sub-Saharan Africa face their health challenges on a daily basis.
By presenting the "Midwives for life” program, developed by the Foundation, the discussions were focused on the importance of a sustainable support for midwives who play a prominent role in the economic development because they are saving lives by reducing neonatal and maternal mortality.
By presenting the "My Child Matters" program implemented by the Foundation more than 10 years ago, the audience understood the impact to fight childhood cancer to protect future generations, but also reduce the psychological burden of disease with moms and families.
