Fundraising for the Ride to Conquer Cancer

The Ride to Conquer Cancer is nearly upon us, and Vigilant Global's Vigi 4 Cure team now boasts 15 members, who are ready to cross the starting line in the early hours of this coming Saturday. After weeks of preparation and fundraising, these 15 members successfully made it to their individual 2,500$ goal, sealing their spot in the Ride.

Since their registration at the beginning of May, the riders from Vigi 4 Cure have hosted several internal campaigns to raise money for the cause. The team relied on bake sales, ice cream sales, a bingo night and an auction of office materials to draw the interest and participation of their colleagues. These small events drew in quite a crowd, and played a large part in the fundraising efforts.

The team also organized a public event at the Burgundy Lion Pub (Montreal) on June 21st; inviting colleagues, friends and family to join in on their efforts. The second floor of the pub was crowded for the occasion, and guests could purchase their favorite beverages alongside draw tickets, with prizes ranging from t-shirts to tickets for local events and attractions. The Burgundy Lion originally promised a 1$ donation for every sale of their specialty ale, but surprised the team with further generosity by donating several hundred dollars.

Last weekend was a last minute rush for some of the riders, who still needed a hand with their own fundraising. The team volunteered at a Loblaw’s supermarket, bagging items for customers. Proudly wearing their Ride jerseys and Vigilant Global t-shirts, they bagged groceries like champions; combining effectiveness with good cheer.

The Ride is now one day away, and the team is anxious to set out and grace the roads with their bicycles. We wish them good luck, and all the fun they can handle!
