When Cancer Tries to Destroy You, What Do You Do?

When cancer tries to destroy you, what do you do?

Cancer changed my family forever. I was diagnosed with testicular cancer twice and my beloved wife, Judy, was taken from us after a brave battle with multiple myeloma.

Through it all, LIVESTRONG was by my side. Their expert guidance and support as my children and I worked to navigate the “new normal” saved us, and that’s why I decided to give back. I became a LIVESTRONG Leader and actively fundraise through Team LIVESTRONGevents.

This year, I took my work one step further. I joined the LIVESTRONG staff in Washington, D.C., for a meeting on Vice President Biden’s National Cancer Moonshot initiative. I shared how cancer touched my family and how LIVESTRONG helped us put our lives back together. I’m so proud of how LIVESTRONG is expanding its revolutionary work in cancer care through the LIVESTRONG Cancer Institutes of the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin.

Cancer tried to destroy my family, but LIVESTRONG didn’t let it. That’s why I am paying it forward and hope you will, too. Please join with us in the fight to work smarter and harder for cancer survivors everywhere—for survivors like me and families like mine.

Help us put more lives back together after cancer.
