Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Earn Top Marks in 2016 Corporate Equality Index
The Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Resorts Earned 100 percent on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Fourteenth Annual Scorecard on LGBT Workplace Equality
LAS VEGAS, Nov. 18, 2015 /3BL Media/ — Wynn Las Vegas and Encore are the proud recipients of a perfect score on the 2016 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. This marks the sixth consecutive year Wynn Las Vegas has earned the honor.
“In this 2016 Corporate Equality Index, hundreds of major businesses responded to our new standards for workplace equality with exceptional leadership. Wynn Las Vegas not only meets these standards, it goes above and beyond the call of duty, making commitment to equality a fundamental aspect of its corporate values," said HRC Foundation Workplace Equality Program Director Deena Fidas.
Wynn Las Vegas has always been on the forefront of creating and fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment, supporting all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions. The company embraces efforts that advance of equality and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) guests and employees as well as their families.
Wynn Las Vegas was among the first resort companies to offer comprehensive health benefits for same-sex couples and their families and offers coverage for transgender reassignment surgery. The company’s internal policies support a safe environment for transitioning employees in accordance with the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care.
The 2016 CEI rated 1,024 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. Wynn Las Vegas’ efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria results in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.
