Wynn Las Vegas Employees Make Spirits Bright This Holiday Season With Record-Breaking Toy Donations City-Wide
Resort toy drive gathers over 7,000 toys; XS Nightclub raises over $200,000 for KLUC toy donation
LAS VEGAS, December 16, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Through a series of fundraising activities, the employees of Wynn Las Vegas made a significant impact while spreading cheer to the children of Southern Nevada in the spirit of the holiday season.
The resort employees in every department collected toys beginning in October to distribute to elementary schools in traditionally low-income neighborhoods throughout the valley. In the eleventh annual toy drive, which began the year the resort opened, the generous group gathered more than 7,000 toys. This massive contribution meant that every child in eight elementary schools was given a wrapped toy along with cookies, coloring books and boxes of crayons. Employee volunteers along with Santa, Mrs. Claus, the gingerbread man, and Elsa and Ana from Disney’sFrozen distributed toys to school children attending Elaine Wynn, Owen C. Roundy, Rex Bell, Dean Peterson, Robert Lunt, Reynaldo Martinez, J.E. Manch, and Zel & Mary Lowman.
On December 10th, XS Nightclub at Wynn broke their previous record of donating $195,000 in toys to the KLUC 16th Annual Chet Buchanan & The Morning Zoo Toy Drive. More than 300 staff members contributed to amass a record total of $213,414 in toys, including 700 bikes, filling an astounding 14 50-ft semi-trucks escorted by five ambulances from Medicwest Ambulance after practically clearing out a local retailer in its entirety. Raising funds through tips and personal donations throughout the year, XS staff members are consistently recognized as the largest donors to the Toy Drive. This is the 9th year that XS has participated in the Toy Drive and they have contributed more than $1 million in lifetime donations.
