Wynn Las Vegas Employees Spread Holiday Cheer to Clark County Children
LAS VEGAS, December 19, 2014 /3BL Media/ - Through a series of fundraising activities the employees of Wynn Las Vegas have together made a significant impact for Clark Country children this holiday season.
Wynn Las Vegas employees in every department gathered toys starting in October to distribute to elementary schools in traditionally low-income neighborhoods throughout the valley. In the tenth annual toy drive, started the year the resort opened, the generous group surpassed their goal of 8,000 toys gathered by leaps and bounds, with over 10,700 toys. This massive contribution meant that every child in 8 elementary schools was given a wrapped toy along with cookies, coloring books and boxes of crayons. Employee volunteers along with Santa, Mrs. Claus, the gingerbread man, and Elsa from Disney’s Frozen distributed the toys to school children in 8 elementary schools including Elaine Wynn, Owen C. Roundy, Rex Bell, Reynoldo Martinez and C. P. Squires. Inspired by the employee’s generosity, President Maurice Wooden committed to working with 10 schools in next toy year's drive.
Surrender Nightclub at Encore held its fourth annual holiday toy drive where guests were granted complimentary entrance by donating a toy during the popular "Surrender Your Wednesday" weekly industry party. Clubgoers arrived in droves with new, unwrapped toys to support the Las Vegas chapter of the non-profit organization Communities In Schools, the nation’s largest, most effective dropout prevention organization dedicated to keeping kids in school and helping them succeed. Special guest DJ Tujanno took to the decks to keep the kindhearted patrons moving on the dance floor.
On December 10th, XS Nightclub in Encore and Tryst Nightclub in Wynn broke their previous record by donating $195,468 in toys to the KLUC 16th Annual Chet Buchanan & The Morning Zoo Toy Drive. More than 300 staff members made a record-breaking contribution of 13,519 toys, including 567 bikes, filling an astounding 12 semi-trucks after practically clearing out a local retailer. Raising funds through tips and personal donations throughout the year, XS and Tryst staff members are consistently recognized as the largest donors to the Toy Drive.
