Beyond Blue Productions

Mission: To produce high quality, socially conscious media that is especially appealing to young people.

 

History: Beyond Blue Productions began in 2006 to support the production of Bilal’s Stand. The original headquarters of this student run organization was located in whichever parent’s house was closest to the shoot. Since then, we have expanded our work space to a permanent office in Detroit. We have gone on to produce a variety of media from feature films to mini-documentaries to corporate commercials. The process of each project is paramount in the quality of the final product.

 

Our goals include being part of the revival of Detroit through plans of developing a shared studio space for the burgeoning number of young independent artists. We also established a high school student program in conjunction with the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor called the Student EFEX Project (Encouraging the Filmmaking Experience) and continue to run the program year-round.
