Earlier this year, California announced an ambitious plan to reduce emissions by 40 percent below 1990 levels by 2030, setting the state on a path to achieving 80-percent reduction by 2050. Although satisfying these goals will require contributions from all sectors of the economy, the transition to zero- and near-zero emission vehicles will play an outsized role — particularly when it comes to mass transit.

SC Johnson today announced it has received a Climate Leadership Award for Excellence in Greenhouse Gas Management (GHG) Goal Setting. The company has set an aggressive goal of further reducing GHG emissions 15 percent by 2020 from the base set in 2015. This could result in a reduction of more than 15,000 metric tons of emissions over five years.

Peninsula Clean Energy's ECO100 Now Green-e Certified

As of 2018 Peninsula Clean Energy's (PCE's) ECO100 option is now certified by Green-e Energy, the leading renewable energy certification and verification program in North America administered by the nonprofit Center for Resource Solutions (CRS). Fourteen cities, the County of San Mateo, and the social media company Facebook have chosen to power their operations with PCE's 100% renewable electricity product, which is available to all San Mateo County residents and businesses.
