In Business magazine recognized the nonprofit Leonardo Academy with a “Best Companies to Work For” award on October 21st. Leonardo Academy, The Sustainability Experts®, works to advance sustainability on a local, national, and global scale. The “Best Companies to Work For” competition recognizes organizations for employee benefits that create attractive workplace cultures. Leonardo Academy was the winner and top scorer in the small company category.

LG Electronics Honored For Environmental Sustainability Corporate Responsibility Leadership

Energy Reduction Efforts Recognized: Eight Lamb Weston Facilities Receive ENERGY STAR® Certification

In demonstration of its ongoing commitment to sustainable operations, eight Lamb Weston facilities achieved ENERGY STAR ® certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Lamb Weston, a ConAgra Foods (NYSE: CAG) brand, operates 13 facilities in the U.S. that make frozen potato products. Three facilities from ConAgra Foods’ private brands business were also certified, giving the company a total of 11 certified facilities – the most in the food processing sector.

GSK [LSE/NYSE: GSK] and Triangle Community Foundation today announced the GSK IMPACT Award Winners in a ceremony at GSK’s Research Triangle Park facility. Ten local nonprofits earned $40,000 each in recognition of their outstanding contributions to a healthier Triangle region.

IBM Wins 2015 Alliance to Save Energy Chairman's Award

IBM uses energy across its business to deliver products, services and solutions to our clients around the world. In order to be competitive and minimize our environmental impacts, we strive to reduce the energy we consume and the associated carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions as we deliver innovation that matters to our clients. In 2014, IBM reduced or avoided the consumption of 404,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of energy and an associated 142,000 metric tons (MT) of CO2 emissions, while saving $37.4 million through the execution of over 2,200 energy conservation projects. These energy conservation savings were equivalent to 6.7 percent of IBM’s 2014 energy consumption, exceeding our goal of 3.5 percent.

Intel's Marty Sedler Wins 2015 Green Power Leader of the Year Award

Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) presented Marty Sedler, Intel's Director of Global Utilities and Infrastructure, with the "Green Power Leader of the Year" Green Power Leadership Award yesterday honoring his over two decades of advocacy for renewable energy development and adoption. In his role at Intel, Sedler is responsible for energy supply and infrastructure for all company facilities, as well as Intel's purchasing, installation, and strategy in its global renewable energy policy.
