The company turned to Schneider Electric to lower energy use, meet energy compliance standards, and manage volatile energy costs.
After building a sprawling financial-services and media empire, Bloomberg LP, which employs 19,000 people and brings in annual revenue of about $9 billion, Bloomberg, who has two daughters, Georgina and Emma, from a previous marriage, has pledged to give away most of his personal fortune, estimated at $47.8 billion. The Chevron-operated Wheatstone LNG Plant on the coast of Western Australia is one of the continent’s biggest natural resource projects. It will have the capacity to supply 8.9 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas per year—equal to 5 percent of Asia’s 2017 use—to meet the soaring demand for cleaner energy in the Asia-Pacific market. Wheatstone will also deliver 200 terajoules per day (2.2 billion cubic meters per year) of gas to Western Australian consumers. Bechtel is performing the engineering, procurement, construction, construction management, and commissioning of facilities to process and liquefy the gas, the tanks that store the fuel at -260 Fahrenheit (-162 Celsius), and the export terminal.
Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of leading tire companies have announced the latest results of ongoing international research projects studying the potential health and environmental impacts of tires. The eleven CEOs form the Tire Industry Project (TIP), which was founded in 2005 to identify and offer solutions to sustainability challenges associated with the life cycle of tires. TIP is a proactive organization that operates under the umbrella of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
