Through PTA Connected, we will educate parents and encourage them to guide their children into responsible digital citizenship and make the best possible decisions for their families. Training and grants will also be delivered to state and local PTA leaders across the country to lead community conversations—giving parents a safe space to share successes and worries about parenting in the digital world as well as crowdsource ideas, resources and tools to help keep children safe online.
As part of Symantec’s support of the program, 25 local PTAs will be selected to receive a $1,000 grant to host an event in conjunction with Safer Internet Day, which will be celebrated Feb. 5, 2019. The deadline for PTAs to apply for the grants is Oct. 14, 2018.

Verizon Innovative Learning, the signature program of the Verizon Foundation, announced the launch of the Verizon 5G EdTech Challenge in partnership with NYC Media Lab. The Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) announced last year the launch of the AIAG Core Tools Software (CTS) cloud-based software, as a replacement to the 15-year-old Microsoft Excel based CDROM. The AIAG development team is creating a Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud application based on the Microsoft development tools and hosting will be provided worldwide via the Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing Platform.
