Ecolab Foundation Commits $5 Million to Support Sustainability Research and Education at the University of Minnesota

Ecolab Chairman and CEO Douglas M. Baker, Jr., and University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler announced a $5 million gift from the Ecolab Foundation to the University-wide Driven campaign, in support of environmental sustainability research and education. A cornerstone of the Ecolab Foundation gift is $2 million to establish an endowed chair for the Institute on the Environment.

Johnson & Johnson Works with U.S. PEPFAR Program to Expand Access for HIV Treatment-Experienced Children in the Developing World

Johnson & Johnson announced that Janssen Pharmaceutica NV, part of its Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies, is working with the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) with the intention of expanding access to lifesaving HIV antiretroviral therapy (ART) for children in the developing world. The initiative seeks to address the fact that only about half of children under age 15 in the developing world are benefiting from ART. This was announced at a conference on pediatric HIV care taking place today in the Vatican City.

Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) announced it has exceeded its initial $75 million commitment for the Wells Fargo Works for Small Business: Diverse Community Capital program by awarding $13 million in lending capital and grants to 19 Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) in the latest round of the program. The CDFIs, which are nonprofit financial institutions, use the funds to deliver affordable financial products to diverse small business owners who do not typically have access to conventional financing.
