Mohawk Group and nonprofit Groundswell have teamed up to locate a new smartflower™ solar energy unit near three Rockingham County Schools in North Carolina—a project that will bring the benefits of clean solar power to the area, create educational opportunities for students and also contribute to Mohawk’s sustainability efforts to leave more handprints than footprints.

Whole Planet Foundation’s annual Poverty Is Unnecessary Project provides opportunity for the world’s poorest people – mostly women – to take a microcredit loan and create or expand a home-based business for the opportunity to lift themselves and their family members out of poverty through their own hard work and creativity. Whole Planet Foundation supports impoverished entrepreneurs through microfinance partners in the United States and 74 other countries around the world.

A new report from the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) made possible by The Allstate Foundation, shows 77 percent of recent high school students believe their schools could have done a better job of helping students develop key social and emotional learning (SEL) skills. Crucial SEL skills, such as empathy and confidence, can have an overwhelmingly positive impact on academic performance and overall well-being.

The Common Impact team had the pleasure of spending #GivingTuesday in Boston with Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation for the first-ever Making Good Happen at Work conference in Boston.
