Tyson Foods Deploys Disaster Relief Teams to North Carolina

In response to flooding in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence, Tyson Foods will send teams to prepare meals for those affected by and responding to the disaster. A cook site will be set up in Fayetteville, North Carolina, at the Walmart store at 7701 S. Raeford Rd. Free, hot meals will be provided onsite beginning Thursday morning at 11 a.m. for anyone who is in need. In addition, a distribution network will be established with local authorities and disaster relief organizations to deliver meals to flood victims in the Fayetteville area.

Xylem Volunteers Join iHeart Radio in a Water Donation Drive to Help Victims of Hurricane Florence

Hurricane Florence is causing vast devastation in the U.S. South East and Mid-Atlantic regions of North and South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia and Maryland. Xylem joined forces with iHeart Radio to donate water to support disaster relief efforts. Nine employees in Atlanta, GA spent two days collecting, loading, and delivering cases of water to those affected by Florence. Xylem encouraged customers and channel partners to support the drive, by either donating items or volunteering, which spanned from Monday, September 17 to Tuesday, September 18. Xylem strives to serve as a lead corporation in disaster relief efforts, and is proud to see employees jumping up to serve those in need.

Everyone at PayPal offers our emotional support to the victims of the hurricane, and together with PayPal Giving Fund we have launched a disaster relief campaign. PayPal is covering all processing costs, ensuring that 100% of your donation will support relief and recovery efforts. Through the PayPal Gives program, PayPal will also match donations made by a PayPal employee, according to terms of the program.

The Walmart Foundation Announces New Round of Grants Available for Canadian Organizations Focused on Reducing Food Waste

The Walmart Foundation today announced that it is making $1.5 million USD ($1.89 million CAD) available to fund proposals from eligible non-profit organizations working to reduce food waste in Canada. The Walmart Foundation is seeking proposals from qualified organizations that have experience in formulating, proposing, and implementing food waste reduction efforts. Requests between $300,000 and $1,000,000 (USD) will be considered.

According to a new survey on corporate giving from the Chronicle of Philanthropy, the Wells Fargo Foundation is the No. 2 corporate cash giver in the U.S. and the top financial institution in overall giving. The rankings, based on 2017 data, reflect more than $286.5 million in cash contributions distributed by Wells Fargo to over 14,500 nonprofits.

NFCC Programs for Military Service Members and Veterans to Benefit From $1 Million Wells Fargo Funding Commitment

n support of the Sharpen Your Financial Focus® (Sharpen) initiative, National Foundation for Credit Counseling® (NFCC®) announced the nonprofit has received a $1 million commitment from Wells Fargo & Co. for financial counseling and education services for active military service members, veterans and their families. Since the 2013 launch of Sharpen, Wells Fargo has contributed a total of $5.5 million to the NFCC in support of these services.
