NFCC Programs for Military Service Members and Veterans to Benefit From $1 Million Wells Fargo Funding Commitment

n support of the Sharpen Your Financial Focus® (Sharpen) initiative, National Foundation for Credit Counseling® (NFCC®) announced the nonprofit has received a $1 million commitment from Wells Fargo & Co. for financial counseling and education services for active military service members, veterans and their families. Since the 2013 launch of Sharpen, Wells Fargo has contributed a total of $5.5 million to the NFCC in support of these services.

The UPS Foundation, which leads global citizenship and philanthropy programs for UPS, announced it will award nearly $2.7 million in grants to preeminent environmental organizations worldwide. The missions of these organizations align with The UPS Foundation and the company’s environmental sustainability goals, which address creation of global standards and best practices as well as other issues such as renewable energy sources and reducing its absolute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from global ground operations.

KFC Honors Founder’s 128th Birthday with First Global Community Outreach Project, Acts of Colonel-ness

KFC celebrated its first-ever global community outreach effort this September through a new, annual giving initiative called “Acts of Colonel-ness,” in honor of what would have been founder Colonel Harland Sander’s 128th birthday. To bring the campaign to life, KFC challenged 300,000 team members in more than 130 countries around the world to commit to doing a total of 128,000 acts of kindness in their communities during the month of September.
