Innovative Biological Tracking Software to Optimize Animal Disease Research at Kruger National Park

Black & Veatch has been tasked by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to implement an electronic system that enables the inventory and management of biological materials at Kruger National Park in South Africa. In partnership with the Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF), Black & Veatch will support the Office of the State Veterinarian in preventing and controlling animal diseases.

Merck for Mothers Blog | Assessing and Addressing Maternal Sepsis

Every pregnant or recently pregnant woman is at risk of an infection that could trigger maternal sepsis. Sepsis is a life-threatening condition that occurs when the body’s response to infection causes injury to its own tissues and organs. Despite it being one of the main causes of maternal death and leading to about 35,000 deaths every year, the true burden of maternal sepsis is presently unknown, due to a lack of data.

Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation’s $25M Commitment to Cancer Moonshot Recognized at AACR Annual Meeting

The Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation’s commitment to address health disparities in cancer outcomes and care was represented at the Biden Cancer Initiative event at AACR. In 2016, the Foundation joined the Cancer Moonshot initiative and donated $25M to grantee projects to expand community-based cancer care resources and patient engagement and support programs for racial and ethnic minorities, rural, low income and vulnerable populations in the U.S. Grantee projects are being implemented in over 25 states across the country.

All Good, All Year Pedals on with Cycle for Survival Fundraiser

Another year, another Team Viacom success story.

In a continuing tradition central to Viacommunity’s All Good, All Year initiative, 24 Team Viacom employees in New York and Los Angeles joined the battle to beat rare cancers by participating in Cycle for Survival’s 12th year of rides, helping to raise some of the more than $40 million in critical funds that the organization has raised for rare cancer research this season alone.
