Brandon Cheong, Shift Manager, Loyalty Club at Marina Bay Sands, first started volunteering while still in school at a local animal shelter after being inspired by United Nations Messenger of Peace, Dame Jane Goodall. This sparked a lifelong commitment to volunteerism as he believes in giving a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves. He has devoted time volunteering and fundraising for Save Our Street Dogs (SOSD) and Voice for Animals (VFA).
The Points of Light Civic Accelerator announced today that it will invest $50,000 each in ReciproCare (Washington, D.C.), a for-profit enterprise, and La Cocina VA (Arlington, Virginia), a nonprofit enterprise. Both ventures are focused on access and pathways to employment to help more individuals and families succeed.

As a young child, Peter Krohn experienced the horrors of the Holocaust. During an inspection, Nazis suspected his favorite teddy bear was being used to smuggle money and destroyed it. Nearly 80 years later, he found a replica of the same toy on eBay. This holiday season, we’re spotlighting May Chen, one of our inspiring employee volunteers from Fidelity Investments. May has now volunteered on two skills-based volunteering projects, where she helped develop a Salesforce community application for Citizen Schools and an IT assessment and strategic roadmap with Metrocrest Services. Throughout both projects, May has been an incredible team player and is extremely dedicated to developing the most effective deliverable for her nonprofit partners.

Through the 2017 Share the Love Event, from November 16, 2017, to January 2, 2018, Subaru will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased to the customer's choice of the four national charities, including Meals on Wheels America, with a minimum guarantee of $250,000. In addition to these partners, Subaru retailers have selected hundreds of hometown charities for their customers to support as well. By the end of this year, Subaru and its participating retailers will have donated over $115 million to help those in need.
