The CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) in the EU reforms and significantly expands the reporting obligations of companies. It extends the reporting requirements and makes it compulsory for big to small and medium-sized enterprises based on a harmonized reporting.
Today, on World NGO Day, I want to take a moment to offer my thanks to the many organizations with whom Mars works to achieve progress against our shared ambitions. Over the years, we’ve had the good fortune of collaborating with global nonprofits doing amazing work to shape change and implement programs in the communities our company’s footprint touches. Through these partnerships, we’re learning from each other and ultimately strengthening our impact through combined efforts.

We want to make it as easy as possible for our products to be a part of a healthy lifestyle by Nourishing Wellbeing. Finally, we’re committed to building sustainable communities through our Thriving People pillar.
Sixty CEOs who are a part of Chief Executives for Corporate Purpose (CECP) –a coalition of 250 of the world’s largest companies that represent more than $6.6 trillion in revenues, $21.2 billion in social investment, 14 million employees, and $15 trillion in assets under management–met at CECP’s Board of Boards to examine critical success factors in building the business for the long-term.
Smithfield Foods, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has successfully engaged 80 percent of its grain supply chain, which is used to feed the company’s hogs, in farming practices that are both sustainable and reduce the cost of production for grain farmers. This exceeded the company’s original goal of 75 percent. In 2018, Smithfield purchased grain from producers who use efficient fertilizer and soil health methods across approximately 560,000 acres of land.
