Procter & Gamble Family Care Honored With Arbor Day Foundation’s Friend of the Forest
The Arbor Day Foundation has announced today that Procter & Gamble Family care has been awarded the Friend of the Forest Award which recognizes a corporation and its leaders for their commitment to using trees and forests to achieve corporate sustainability goals and targets. The award will be presented on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at a Town Hall meeting at Procter & Gamble headquarters in Cincinnati.

Nationwide Celebrations and Tree Planting Opportunities Announced for Arbor Day, America’s Oldest Environmental Holiday
April 27, 2018 marks the 146th celebration of Arbor Day. A holiday established in 1872 in Nebraska City to inspire people to plant trees, it became a national holiday in 1972. To help people across the country get more easily involved in celebrating the country's first environmental holiday, the Arbor Day Foundation has launched celebratearborday.com.

10 Cities Awarded TD Green Streets Grants for Innovative Urban Forestry Initiatives in Low- to Moderate-Income Neighborhoods

The Arbor Day Foundation has announced today that Plant-for-the Planet has been awarded the Foundation’s Spirit of Arbor Day Award which recognizes an organization or community that fulfills the Foundation's mission of inspiring people to plant, nurture and celebrate trees through programs and activities that have been implemented within the past five years. The Arbor Day Foundation has announced today that the City of San Francisco and the Friends of the Urban Forest have been awarded the Foundation’s Champion of Trees Award which recognizes a government entity, community-based organization or partnership among such groups that has demonstrated exemplary leadership to develop and implement new policies and practices for municipal tree planting and care, natural area stewardship or arboriculture.

The conference is one of the largest urban forestry gatherings of its kind and attracts leading experts from around the world to share the latest practices and lessons in city forest management and citizen engagement.

The Arbor Day Foundation Launches National Campaign to Restore Forests and Communities Ravaged by Recent Hurricanes
The Arbor Day Foundation unveiled a brand-new hurricane tree recovery campaign today to get millions of trees back in the ground in the wake of hurricane devastation in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico. The initiative — which will engage and mobilize public and private partners — aims to plant and distribute 5 million trees over the next five years. The Arbor Day Foundation is already engaging with city and state leaders to ensure long-term recovery across the affected regions.
