Carnival Corporation Releases 2017 Sustainability Report, Meets Goal to Reduce Carbon Footprint Ahead of Schedule
Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), the world’s largest leisure travel company, today released its eighth annual sustainability report, announcing that in 2017 the company achieved its 25 percent carbon reduction goal three years ahead of schedule and is on track with its nine other 2020 sustainability goals. The Bellona Foundation and Carnival Corporation & plc, the world’s largest cruise company with nine global cruise line brands, have signed an agreement of cooperation where the parties agree to work together to continue improving environmental and sustainability impact. The newly formed cooperation is based on the two parties’ shared vision of an even more sustainable cruise industry in a future zero emission society.

The Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein, the Federal State capital Kiel, the Seaport of Kiel and the Costa Group came together on Thursday, April 26, 2018, aboard AIDAluna to discuss the ways the ways to expand their current collaboration on sustainability initiatives. Their objective is to further develop the maritime infrastructure, the economy, and tourism in northern Germany sustainably and to make them “future-proof.”

Costa Cruises to Halve Food Waste on Board Its Ships Thanks to the “4GOODFOOD” Program
Costa Cruises has today unveiled its 4GOODFOOD program, whose aim is to halve food waste on board the Italian company's ships by 2020. The starting point for the project is recognizing the value of food. The food experience is a key part of the cruise and the relevant figures are quite staggering: some 54 million meals a year are prepared on board the members of the Costa fleet.

AIDA Cruises Starts LNG Operation in Mediterranean Ports
Following the first successful tests, AIDA Cruises begins gradually over the coming weeks with the regular operations for supplying AIDAperla with low-emission liquefied natural gas (LNG) while docked at the ports of Barcelona (Spain), Marseille (France) and Civitavecchia (Italy). The company is also currently in discussion with authorities in Palma de Mallorca (Spain).

Carnival Cruise Line Signs Agreement With Shell to Fuel North America’s First LNG-Powered Cruise Ships
Carnival Cruise Line, a unit of Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK) and the world's most popular cruise line, today announced it has signed an agreement with Shell NA LNG, LLC (Shell) to be its supplier of marine liquefied natural gas (LNG) to power North America’s first fully LNG-powered cruise ships. Under this framework agreement, Shell will supply Carnival Cruise Line with fuel for its two new LNG-powered ships expected to launch in 2020 and 2022 and to be homeported in North America.

AIDAnova: The Future Is Taking up Speed
Today, Monday, September 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., the first of two AIDAnova modules left the Neptun shipyard in Rostock, which belongs to the Meyer Group, with Papenburg as its destination. The first of two flotation elements is carrying the four dual-fuel engines by Caterpillar and hence the heart of AIDAnova. AIDAnova is the first cruise ship in the world, which, starting in the fall of 2018, will be able to operate both in ports and at sea with the currently most environmentally friendly and lowest-emission fossil fuel thanks to the operation of dual-fuel engines.
