2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV to Offer 259 Miles of Range
The Chevrolet Bolt EV will now take customers even farther. Starting with model year 2020, the Bolt EV will offer a remarkable EPA-estimated 259 miles of range on a full charge, a 21-mile increase over previous model years. The Bolt EV’s winning combination of long range and affordability continues to attract new customers to the EV segment, and the 2020 Bolt EV will allow them to travel farther between charging sessions.

General Motors China has released its 2018 Corporate Social Responsibility Report to provide an update on its CSR efforts and commitment in the areas of safety, sustainability, education and the community. The report provides an update to its stakeholders about the actions taken by the company and its joint ventures in China to help achieve GM’s global vision of zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion.

GM Partners With Qmerit to Create a More Accessible At-Home Charging Solution
GM recently announced a partnership with Qmerit to enable electric vehicle owners to more easily find and obtain quotes from pre-approved EV charging station installers. The partnership will give Chevrolet EV owners a seamless way to find electricians to install the charging equipment, making charging their EV an easy part of their daily routine.

Michelin, GM Take the Air Out of Tires for Passenger Vehicles
Michelin and General Motors have presented a new generation of airless wheel technology, the MICHELIN Uptis Prototype (or “Unique Puncture-proof Tire System”). GM intends to develop this airless wheel assembly with Michelin and aims to introduce it on passenger vehicles as early as 2024. Later this year, GM will initiate real-world testing and validation of the Uptis Prototype on a Michigan test fleet of Chevrolet Bolt EVs.

GM to Invest $300 Million, Add 400 Jobs at Michigan Plant for New Chevrolet Electric Vehicle
General Motors is investing $300 million in its Orion Township, Michigan, assembly plant to produce a new Chevrolet electric vehicle that will bring 400 new jobs to the Orion plant. The announcement is part of GM’s new commitment to invest a total of $1.8 billion in its United States manufacturing operations, creating 700 new jobs and supporting 28,000 jobs across six states.

The new Chevrolet electric vehicle is in addition to the existing Chevrolet Bolt EV, further advancing GM’s commitment to an all-electric future.

General Motors Donates First-Generation Self-Driving Test Vehicle
When General Motors’ self-driving technology made its debut in 2016 in Cruise Automation test vehicles on the streets of San Francisco, it marked a significant step in our journey to zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion. Three years and thousands of real-world miles later — one of those first self-driving test vehicles was donated to The Henry Ford as the first autonomous car to be added to the museum’s collection in Dearborn, Michigan.

GM announces ARĪV as the name of its new eBike brand, which includes two innovative, integrated and connected eBikes: the Meld, a compact eBike, and the Merge, a folding eBike. The name ARĪV was selected as part of a global crowdsourcing campaign announced in November 2018.
