Zurich Classic
Zurich Insurance Group (Zurich) is the title sponsor of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. The tournament began in 1938 and is held at the TPC Louisiana, which is the fourth venue to host the New Orleans Classic. Since becoming the title sponsor in 2005, Zurich, a leading multi-line insurance provider in North America and around the globe, has raised - together with the Fore!Kids Foundation - nearly $8 million for more than 40 charities that serve more than 200,000 children in need throughout southeastern Louisiana. The Zurich Classic generates more than $30 million annually for the local economy. In 2006, the Zurich Classic was the first nationally televised sporting event after Hurricane Katrina. Many players committed their earnings from the tournament to Hurricane relief. Over the four days of television coverage, the tournament is seen around the world in 114 countries. Zurich showed its support of New Orleans and the tournament when they renewed their contract as title sponsor for an additional two years, bringing them through 2010, the Company has since furthered its commitment to New Orleans when it announced its extension through the 2014 tournament.
