Marcone Joins Scott Patriot Program
Scott Patriot Program adds Marcone to the growing list of St. Louis area businesses that back military support efforts in important ways.
Marcone has again been recognized for its leadership in corporate assistance of military support programs. The Scott Patriot Program, introduced last year by Scott Air Force Base in the St. Louis area, celebrates local businesses that meet at least one program standard for demonstrating support of military personnel and veterans.
Of the nine benchmarks laid out by SAFB, Marcone has programs in place that meet six. We're even working to become G.I. Certified; this would mean service members could be reimbursed for appliance repair training they take through MSA—and Marcone would meet a seventh support specification in the Scott Patriot Program.
Along with providing military discounts on merchandise and contributing to organizations like Fischer House Foundation and HEROES Care, check out the other ways Marcone is backing U.S. military service members and their families, as outlined by the Scott Patriot Program.
- Supporting the hiring of veterans, retirees, military spouses: Marcone actively recruits and currently employs dozens of veterans, retirees, and military spouses across the country. We're pleased to be a flagship member of MSCCN (Military Spouse Corporate Career Network).
- Volunteering or allowing employees to volunteer for military efforts and/or charitable causes: Marcone hosts informational and recruitment booths, which are staffed by employee volunteers, at military support events like the St. Louis Air Show and STEM Expo.
- Donating items or funds to programs that support the military: Marcone regularly holds charitable drives and fundraisers that include matching funds. Last year, we raised more than $20,000 for HEROES Care to send holiday packages to 550 overseas soldiers.
- Supporting military advocacy programs or military professional associations: Since 2010, Marcone has partnered with the MSCCN–CASY programs to hire military spouses, veterans, and National Guard and Reserve members.
