VIDEO | Barclays Citizenship Awards: Annabel Jones, Ambassador for the Stroke Association
Annabel Jones is an ambassador for the Stroke Association. Suffering from a stroke in 2011 at the age of just 22, Annabel uses her personal experience to support stoke sufferers, raise funds and generate awareness for stroke prevention.
Annabel gained support from her colleagues and has helped to raise in excess of £45,000. She has become a key ambassador for the Stroke Association, highlighting the key issues and challenges stroke survivors face through engaging with the media through newspapers, magazines, radio and local TV to raise publicity for the cause.
Citizenship can take many different forms – from supporting entrepreneurs to helping young people develop their employment skills. The annual Barclays Citizenship Awards recognise those colleagues who make that difference and create opportunities to rise.
In 2018, we received over 550 nominations for the Citizenship Awards, celebrating the vast and outstanding Citizenship work of our employees and their contributions, not just to our customers and clients, but in helping to find ways in which to drive economic, environmental and social prosperity.
