Consumers Energy is committed to helping Michigan residents stay safe and warm this winter which includes assisting federal government employees in Michigan who are affected by the ongoing shutdown. The company is encouraging customers who face hardship due to this ongoing shutdown to contact Consumers Energy immediately for assistance – which may include flexible payment arrangements or extensions that provide more time to pay a bill.

Consumers Energy Donates $100,000 to Michigan Veterans Trust Fund
Consumers Energy has donated $100,000 to the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund to help military veterans pay their heating bills this winter. The gift is the largest single donation in the 73-year history of the trust fund, which operates within the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency, according to Lindell Holm, MVTF director.

Consumers Energy Supports Michigan Communities With First ‘Put Your Town on the Map’ Competition
Consumers Energy is strengthening its commitment to rural Michigan communities by announcing a new competition to provide funding for projects that will help energize towns in the Lower Peninsula. The “Put Your Town on the Map” competition will provide a total of $15,000 to three initiatives that are designed to build a stronger sense of community. Up to 10 finalist communities will compete for the funding at the 2019 Small Town and Rural Development Conference on April 17 in Thompsonville, Mich.

Turkey Dinners Delivered to Customers by Consumers Energy Employees
Consumers Energy employees understand that utility work can be a pain for customers. Torn up lawns and landscaping. Trucks blocking driveways and roads. Holes in the road and yards. So, on Wednesday, Nov. 14, employees gave back to their customers affected by this work. About 600 turkey dinners were assembled and delivered in Jackson, Saginaw and Warren.

Consumers Energy Works with Michigan-Based Business to Help Students in 29 Counties Stay Warm This Winter
Helping to keep schoolchildren safe and warm this winter, Consumers Energy is working with a Michigan-based business to provide products to over 900 West and Northern Michigan schools that quickly dry cold and wet gloves and mittens.

This week, TheGreenGloveDryer® School Project is delivering 3,140 EcoDryers to classrooms in nearly 60 public, private and charter schools in the Traverse Bay area. Consumers Energy is funding the school outreach to help students just in time for another cold Michigan winter.

As Michigan gears up for winter, Consumers Energy announced today that it is contributing $2 million to help Michigan residents stay safe and warm. The $2 million contribution will help as many as 2,500 households in Consumers Energy’s CARE program.

Consumers Energy Contributes $75,000 to Kellogg Foundation's Small Business Loan Fund
In June, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation announced a new loan fund for small businesses in Battle Creek. The target was $10 million, with the foundation committed to matching each $1 given to the fund with $2. The fund moved another step closer to that final goal with a $75,000 contribution from Consumers Energy, presented in a ceremony on Wednesday.
