Finding a common thread between generations can sometimes be difficult these days. So, when one of Dr. Keith Whitworth’s students brought Cycling Without Age to his attention, he immediately jumped at the opportunity to bring the program to Texas Christian University.
Brenda Rideout joined Tangerine (formerly ING DIRECT Canada) in 1999 as director of software development and quickly moved up the ranks to senior executive leadership positions. She was instrumental in growing the bank’s Canadian presence and led its brand transition to Tangerine. In 2007, she was awarded the Most Innovative CIO award from Bank Systems and Technology magazine and in 2008 she was the recipient of the CIO of the Year award from the Canadian Alliance Technology Association.

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. today announced the 255 state finalists in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Contest – a nationwide competition that challenges students to creatively use STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) skills to address real-world issues and inspire change in their local communities. Each year, the program sheds light on societal and environmental problems that affect students in their everyday lives, and empowers them to voice their concerns proactively and unite with their classmates to find a resolution.

Sophie Bernstein always wanted to grow her own garden. At 12 years old, she was looking for a meaningful project to complete for her bat mitzvah – something that would serve a larger purpose and help the community. This week, Visa received recognition from two notable organizations, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC) and Diversity Best Practices (DBP), a division of Working Mother Media, for the company’s work in championing diversity and inclusion in the workplace. HRC announced that Visa received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2018 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality.
