The City of Lakewood, California, hired Tetra Tech to design a new stormwater capture project that will improve water quality in the Los Cerritos Channel by removing pollutants conveyed within stormwater. Last week, Maven Gig launched in Austin, a city ranked at the top of best cities lists with accolades such as “Greenest City in America,” and rated as one of the Best Cities for Recent College Grads. The Austin launch marked the first all-electric fleet for Gig, utilizing the Chevrolet Bolt EV as the sole vehicle offered. This week, Troup County will complete the paving of the county’s first “rubber road” on the new Tom Hall Parkway. The project used over 32,000 pounds of recycled tire rubber (RTR) in the top layer or “wearing course” of the road, which represents the rubber taken from over 2,500 end of life passenger tires.
