As part of this year's Summit, Taproot gathered CSR, nonprofit, and government leaders at New Ways Forward to identify and co-design new pro bono solutions for pressing challenges like food access, developing leaders, and driving technology adoption and use in the social sector.

Medtronic Foundation Opportunity Grant Initiative Now Seeking Applications

Medtronic Foundation is seeking project ideas to test or scale solutions that improve the efficiency of healthcare delivery by addressing gaps in distance, time or people, while leading to demonstrable health outcomes for underserved populations. Successful applicants will receive a one time, one-year grant for US$50,000-US$100,000 and will participate in a global learning collaborative facilitated by the Medtronic Foundation. Up to ten (10) grants will be awarded.

Helping Veterans Find Careers After Military Service

Benjamin Francisco has seen a lot in his eight years with the Minnesota Army National Guard. Deployed twice, to Egypt and Kuwait, it was his job to keep critical IT communications systems up and running. But convincing employers those skills can transfer to the civilian workforce has been another matter. Medtronic is trying to help veterans overcome that challenge.
