Leonardo Academy online training: The integration of LEED for New Construction (LEED-NC) and LEED for Existing Buildings (LEED-EB)

(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) December 13, 2010 - This course discusses the integration of LEED for New Construction (LEED-NC) and LEED for Existing Buildings (LEED-EB) to achieve project objectives.

Participants will learn how to build LEED-EB success into LEED-NC projects by design actions that will earn points for recertification under LEED-EB. They will learn how to specify the desired sustainability performance of a new building using LEED-NC and LEED-EB. Two case studies are presented as illustrations.     

Course approved by USGBC as counting toward the LEED-specific credential maintenance requirement.   Course participants will be able to:

• Identify design actions in LEED-NC that will earn points for recertification under LEED-EB

• Understand the practicality of specifying sustainable building performance using LEED-NC and LEED-EB

• Understand how to specify sustainable building performance for new buildings using LEED-NC and LEED-EB

Presenter: Michael Arny, PE, MSME, LEED AP 

Michael Arny is the president and founder of Leonardo Academy. He provides overall leadership for Leonardo Academy's sustainability work, which includes: organizational sustainability, sustainable buildings and LEED, emissions footprints and offsets, and development of ANSI sustainability standards. Michael chaired the LEED-EB Committee during the development of LEED-EB from 2001-2005 and has been referred to as the "father of LEED-EB" due to his significant contribution. His project work includes: Organizational Sustainability for the International Monetary Fund in Washington, DC; LEED-NC to LEED-EB Recertification of the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, AR; and annual emissions inventories for Milliken Carpet.   LA10823
